For the seventh time already, key players from industry, retail, government, sciences, media and associations gathered at the ISPO Innovation Forum to discuss the future of cycling. This year’s forum was titled "URBAN CYCLING – GLOBAL NETWORKS".

Experts and trade professionals discussed the future of cycling in urban areas and the development of the bicycle industry. This year saw a premiere as well: The inspiring keynote speech titled "Bicycle Urbanism by Design" by Mikael Colville-Andersen of Copenhagenize Consulting.

The following speakers also held exciting speeches:

  • Lasse Schelde, Manager at Bicycle Innovation Lab, Copenhagen (DK)
  • Burkhard Stork, National Director of the German Cyclists’ Federation ADFC (D)
  • Randy Neufeld, Director of SRAM Cycling Fund (USA)
  • Andreas Knie, Call a Bike (DB Rent GmbH) and Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin (D)
  • Thomas Schröder, Head of Marketing & Communications m-way AG (CH)
  • Stephan Augustin, Industrial Designer, BMW i Innovation Projects Electric Mobility, BMW Group (D)

The event was subdivided into the two topic groups “Innovative Approaches to Global Cycling Advocacy” and “Products, Services, and Infrastructures for Future Urban Cycling”. Both depended on each other but could also be attended individually. Subsequent to the short impulse speeches, there was a workshop entitled „The Next Big Thing in Cycling“. In the concluding panel discussion, the main points and results of the day were summarized and an opportunity for questions and further discussion was presented.
